MOORHEAD – Lisa Borgen, a former judge and Clay County attorney, has been named vice president for administration of American Crystal Sugar.
Borgen, now an attorney with the Vogel Law Firm here, will start her new position June 16, the cooperative announced today.
Her duties will include human resources, public relations and information technology.
Borgen has been with the Vogel firm since November. Before that she served as a district court judge for the Seventh Judicial District of Minnesota for seven years.
Earlier, she had been Clay County attorney for seven years.
“Lisa Borgen has demonstrated the ability to deliver impressive results in all of her professional and community experiences,” Dave Berg, president of American Crystal, said in a statement, adding that the company has the goal of “having the best work force in the sugar industry.”
Borgen said in a statement: “I enjoy the challenge of implementing new strategies and effectuating change. I look forward to helping American Crystal attract local, talented people to a premier company in the Red River Valley.”
