Grand Forks man arrested in attempted weekend burglary

GRAND FORKS, ND - An 18-year-old Grand Forks resident was arrested over the weekend on several charges after an incident at a north Grand Forks home.

GRAND FORKS, ND - An 18-year-old Grand Forks resident was arrested over the weekend on several charges after an incident at a north Grand Forks home.

According to Grand Forks Police Department, David Michael Mahlum was arrested Saturday night after he allegedly broke a window in a home in the 800 block of Sixth Avenue North and threatened one of the residents.

The suspect fled the scene before police arrived. However, Mahlum was arrested later in the 1700 block of Old Mill Road, after another disturbance was reported, according to police.

Mahlum was arrested on suspicion of attempted burglary, terrorizing and minor in consumption of alcohol, according to the report. Charges are pending in connection with the disturbance on Old Mill Road.
