Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - Over 23,000 people can't run through a city without a little cleanup needed after.
The Fargo marathon's organizers' went to work before the last racer finished, and continued well into the night.
When the sun broke this morning, they were back at it, starting at 7:30, with most of the work concentrated on Broadway.
Last night's bash ended around 10:30, and crews thought they had most of the cleaning done by midnight.
But the late night crowd exiting the bars caused some more cleaning to be done this morning, having tipped over a few port-a-pots and emptying some trash bags onto the streets.
The night sky didn't help either.
Sue Knutson/ Marathon Organizer: “We had some signs that we had to pick up on the bridge this morning and then just some, you know just trash and garbage that was left behind. Thought we had everything cleaned up but you know when it's midnight it's pretty dark outside so it's hard to see.”
Organizers say it took a few days for all of the gates and barricades to get setup along the route, so expect the same time frame for them to be removed.
