Moorhead Police seize car, over $25,000 in drugs and cash (w/ audio)

Moorhead, MN (WDAY TV) - A routine traffic stop lead to much more for Moorhead Police Monday. Authorities arrested two people and seized over $25,000 in drugs and cash.

Moorhead, MN (WDAY TV) - A routine traffic stop lead to much more for Moorhead Police Monday. Authorities arrested two people and seized over $25,000 in drugs and cash.

Harry Samuel Desjarlait, 34, and Melissa Ann Christiansen, 30, were arrested following a traffic stop and search. Police stopped a Chevy Impala at around 2 PM Monday as a result of an on-going drug investigation. A K9 search around the exterior of the car resulted in a positive alert for narcotics. A search of the vehicle turned up methamphetamine and a large amount of cash.

Shortly after the stop, a search warrant was served at the vehicle occupants' residence of 632 12th Street North in Moorhead. Additional illegal drugs were seized at the residence.

Desjarlait and Christiansen both face Felony level drug charges. Both are being held in the Clay County Jail pending a long form complaint filing.

19.8 grams of methamphetamine, 18.6 grams of heroin, .8 grams of marijuana and unauthorized prescription pills were seized, along with $12,642 in cash and the 2012 Chevy Impala the suspects were driving during the stop.
