Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - We're only 4 days away from the Fargo marathon, and police say they expect the biggest crowd the city's ever seen.

They urge you to plan ahead if you'll be driving anywhere around Fargo on Saturday.

Veteran's Memorial bridge on main avenue will serve as the start line for the races, and could be the road closing with the most impact.

Police warned today that anyone who tries to get downtown less than an hour before the race begins, won't have a prayer of finding a parking spot.

Joel Vettel/ Fargo PD: “We're asking people: get there early, get there by 6 am. Plan to be here as early as possible because after that 6-30 hour. I think it's really gonna get tight.”

Officials say it'll be so tight that the expected crowd could combine to make up a city not much smaller than West Fargo.
