FARGO - Firefighters extinguished a blaze that burned eight storage units this morning on Fargo's north side.

About 4:30 a.m., the city fire department was sent to Mid States Storage at 2101 12th St. N.

Battalion Chief Dane Carley said crews used power saws to cut through the locks on the gates to the storage facility and the locks on individual units.

Carley said firefighters found one unit that was engulfed in flames and seven others with some fire damage. Sixteen additional units had smoke damage, he said.

The fire's cause is under investigation.
