Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - A well-trafficked building on NDSU's campus has been re-dedicated with a new name.

The university celebrated the renaming of the Quentin Burdick building Friday.

It was formerly known as the Industrial Agriculture and Communications Center, or IACC.

Burdick represented North Dakota in the U.S. Congress for 32 years, and helped secure funding to support agriculture research and education.

Birch Burdick/Sen. Burdick’s Son: "He would have been very proud. Not only of NDSU, as he always was, but about the initial focus of this building which was in large part, on agriculture. But he would also be very interested, I think, in how that has evolved over time."

The building was built in 1991 and serves as a computer center and classroom space.
