Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - Some local students are letting their imaginations take them all the way to Knoxville, Tennessee.

Marissa Carpenter, Katie Andreachi, and Saige Thurlow are one of four Fargo teams going to the Global Finals for Destination Imagination.

For their challenge, they developed a prototype for an app and suit that work together to help a person breathe and stay warm on Mount Everest.

23,000 kids will participate at the finals May 21-24th.

Marissa Carpenter/8th Grader: “It's really fun, you get to meet people from all over the place, and you get to compete people from all over the world.”

This Saturday, the girls have a vendor fair fundraiser for their trip.

It goes from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Centennial Elementary.
