Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - Local middle schoolers are honoring the unsung heroes in our community.
Carl Ben Eielson Sixth Graders handed out their annual "Pushing The Edge" awards to ten "ordinary" people who do "extraordinary things."
The awards are part of a project for the students, where they look at historical leaders, find traits that made them stand out, then look for people in the community with those same characteristics.
The winners include Zach Kraft, who is battling brain cancer, and Parker Sebens, who has learned to live without arms.
Claire Olson/ Awards Presenter: "I nominated Jake Clark. And he was, I picked him because I thought he was really innovative and determined and I think that's traits that everybody should have."
Jake Clark is the founder of Fargo 3D Printing.
This is the 12th year for the awards.
