Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - Marcus Williams left NDSU as one of the best players in NDSU history and one of the recent standouts in the FCS, he's hoping those highlight reel plays will make an NFL coach or general manager take a chance in next week's draft.

Marcus Williams: “It's so tough, thought leading up to Pro Day with all the pressure this is even worse, just waiting and waiting going to be the longest two weeks of my life.”

The song goes the waiting is the hardest part, that's what Williams is doing, he's spent the last three months working out and training and trying to get on all 32 teams radars that he's worth a draft pick; and with pressure on him each time to perform, he's trying not to dissect every visit.

Williams: “After my Pro day I heard some times, wish I could have done this, done that, it all worked out, nothing but good reports, no bad reports, looking forward to next two weeks.”

Williams may be the forgotten man in recent weeks, with Billy Turner and Brock Jensen getting in house visits with teams, but says his tape and work ethic speaks for itself and hopes that is enough for the ultimate payoff.

Williams: “Hearing my name called I've dreamed about my whole life, can't put words to it, makes me happy for all the work I've put in, want to hear my name called, want to prove even though I'm from a small school I can compete and play with the best.”
