West Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - Here's a question for you.

What is the fastest growing high school varsity sport in the nation?

If you said bowling, you're correct.

And the popularity of the sport was on full display in West Fargo Saturday.

Stars & Strikes Bowling Center played host to a qualifier for the Teen Masters Bowling Championships; a tourney that offers the richest scholarship in the sport.

Only 25 locations in the country were selected to host the qualifying tournaments which are far more competitive than your average game of bowling with friends.

Alex Jorgenson/Bowling Tournament Competitor: "You might have to bowl an average of 230 and you still might not qualify. And other days you might scrape by bowling 180's. It really depends on how everyone else does."

The finals of the tournament will be held in Fort Lauderdale this summer; the winning boy and girl each receive a $7,500 scholarship.
