Minneapolis, MN (WDAY TV) - It might be the best story going in baseball right now and it's being written by a guy who was playing in a league similar to what the RedHawks play in a few years ago.

Chris Colabello spent 7 years in the Can-Am League before finally getting a shot in the majors last year with Minnesota.

He's taking full advantage of his chance this season, he tied a team record for RBIs in the month of April on Wednesday with 26, but says he's always believed he could play.

Chris Colabello/ .325, 3 HR, 26 RBI, 9 Doubles: “The first day I started playing in the Can-Am League, first time in college, first time in high school, I believed I could play in the big leagues, that could be as far fetched as imagined but I think for me to say no I wasn't aspiring to be best player, because if you don't dream it, you can't do it.”

Only 16 players in baseball history have driven in 30 or more runs in April, Colabello has five more games to join that list.
