Moorhead, MN (WDAY TV) - A Moorhead man charged in a brutal domestic assault case is back in court facing more charges.
Now, he's accused of violating a judge's no contact order.
34-year-old Michael Karau appeared in Clay County court.
New court documents show Karau tried to call the female victim twelve times over a two day span in jail, twice telling her how much he loves her.
Karau is accused of beating the same woman for several hours with a baseball bat, trying to drown her, and threatening to pour battery acid on her face.
His attorney says the case continues to grow, so he's still reviewing all of its parts.
Ken Kludt/ Defense Attorney: "We just received the discovery today. We haven't had a chance to go through it. We really can't even comment on whether the bail is set at an adequate level at this point. So that's really about all I have to say."
Karau's bail is still set at $1 million and his next court date scheduled for June 2nd.
He's already been charged with six different felonies including attempted murder, assault, and false imprisonment.
