Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - If recent trends continue at Fargo Public Schools next year enrollment at the elementary level will see another triple figure boost.

The school board took a look at recent numbers at its board meeting tonight.

Growth has remained consistent the past two years with there being about 290 more students each fall than anticipated the previous April.

However, the bump in numbers is something the district expects to snowball as South Fargo continues to grow.

Dr. Jeffery Schatz/ Superintendent, Fargo Public Schools: "It's coming. It's just a matter of time and so, the best knowledge we have is that we're going to continue to grow at this point. And that's been our prediction."

If current growth trends hold over to next fall there would be more than 5,500 elementary students at Fargo Public Schools next year.
