Fargo, ND (WADY TV) - Meanwhile, the postseason came to a frustrating finish last night, for the Gopher men's hockey team, falling to Union College in the NCAA championship.

Minnesota led 2-1 late in the first period, when the dutchmen erupted for 3 goals in a span of less than 2 minutes.

It turned out to be a hole too deep to dig out of for the Gophers, who could only watch as Union celebrated it's first ever national title.

Justin Kloos/Minnesota Fr. Forward: “We hung out our goalie to dry. He's been our best player all year. For us to do that was kind of disappointing. I think we just made mental mistakes. I don't think you can look at anyone in our locker room and say they weren't physically trying their hardest, but mentally we made a few too many mistakes in that segment.”
