Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - He helped Fargo Shanley win 2 state titles, then he left to play division one college football.

Not at NDSU, UND, or Minnesota, but with Missouri, who's now in the SEC.

Connor McGovern isn't a kid anymore, standing at 6'4" and weighing in at 310 pounds.

He became a starter at right guard last year for the Tigers as a red-shirt sophomore, and helped lead the team to the Cotton Bowl Championship over Oklahoma State.

But, it's the journey that took him there that was half the battle.

Connor McGovern/Missouri OL (Fargo Native): “They are always like how did you end up down here and I explain that you have to go to camps and I went to like 9 or 10 camps before my senior year in high school and it's just a little different because they never had to go to a camp they just got recruited right out of high school so it's a little different for them.”

Tonight at 10, hear more from McGovern in our Beyond the Game series.

Find out if he thinks he has a future in the NFL.
