Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - it seems unfair that the baseball season began on a day when a blizzard warning hit the Red River Valley, but Mother Nature nor Bud Selig wait for anyone, as the 2014 season got underway.

The Twins, off the worst three year stretch in franchise history eager for a big bounce back year started the year in Chicago, sending 49 million dollar man Ricky Nolasco to the hill to face the White Sox

Nolasco with a slow start though, scoreless in the 2nd, Alejandro De Aza drills this pitch to deep right....a two-run homer.

First of two on the day for him.

2-0 White Sox.

Kurt Suzuki is the new Twins catcher; he's not known for his bat, but he helps the Twins out in the 3rd with this hit to left, scoring Aaron Hicks and Oswaldo Arcia.

We're tied at 2.

White Sox go right back on top in the bottom half as Jose Abreu rips a single to left, that scores Adam Eaton.

Right now, 5-2 White Sox in the 7th.
