Democratic state convention in Fargo

Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - The political season is underway in North Dakota, with state Democrats having their turn in Fargo this weekend and Republicans in Minot, next weekend.

Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - The political season is underway in North Dakota, with state Democrats having their turn in Fargo this weekend and Republicans in Minot, next weekend.

Hundreds of people are in Fargo for the Democratic state convention.

Most events are going on at the Fargo Civic Center, and run through Sunday afternoon.

The crowds are already pouring in for registration and the next three days will be full of nominations and endorsements for statewide offices with about 700 delegates expected from across the state.

Bob Valeu/ ND Dem. NPL Party Chairman: “The enthusiasm amongst democrats is very strong. We're very confident that we have an opportunity to win back some seats at the state level.”

Representative Collin Peterson will give the keynote address on Saturday.
