Oklahoma City, OK (KOCO TV) - An Oklahoma City girl scout has some major bragging rights. The sixth-grader sold more than 18,000 boxes of cookies - a new record!

Katie Francis – Girl Scout: "I was just really, really happy. I started dancing around. I was just really, really happy. I was excited that I had made it."

All smiles, Katie Francis celebrates her new world record. 18,107 boxes of Girl Scout Cookies sold!

Katie Francis: "For the past two years, I beat the state record, and it just seemed like the national record was next on the list."

Yet, she's not stopping there. She wants to sell 20,000 boxes by month's end.

Katie Francis: "Cookie selling is just so much fun to me."

With her mother, Katie rolls her wagon around the metro pushing those Thin Mints and Samoas with her recipe for record-breaking.

Katie Francis: "There's three ingredients to the cookie sale. It takes lots of time, commitment and asking everybody I see."

The family's SUV is now a cookie caravan. So this "A" student, singer and dancer is ready to make a sale from school to dance class.

DeLee Francis – Katie’s Mom: "It's a lot, it’s very time consuming, and it takes a lot of energy and a lot of adrenaline. But it's a lot of fun, too."

It’s fun for this mother to watch her daughter work toward a goal and a good cause.

Katie Francis: "I'm really, really happy. I can go around knowing I now hold a world record."
