Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - 750 fans at the game in Spokane tonight. Thousands more back home, watching.

The Bison Turf, on campus, was bustling of course but with a somewhat different crowd than you might expect.

NDSU students are gone for Spring Break right now, so the Turf actually had many alumni there watching the game.

And some were intent on having just the right spot to watch.

"I'm with a bunch of Bison fans, a bunch of friends that are loud, we're crazy."

When you think about reserving a table a fancy dinner might come to mind.

But for these Bison fans a table here tonight is more valuable than one in the most exclusive restaurant.

Heidi Fiechtner/Bison Fan: "We thought hey, let's reserve a table, we know we can get a good spot, we'll watch the game in a good place."

Every TV at the Bison Turf was tuned in to the biggest basketball game of the year, NDSU versus Oklahoma.

But the college bar right across the street from campus wasn't packed with students tonight many of them are on Spring break.

Instead, alumni paid a visit to their old stomping grounds.

Lucas Kreklau/NDSU Alumnus: "I've got friends that live near here, so we decided to come watch the game at the old place."

Lucas Kreklau says he came to see a Bison win.

And between the football team's National Champion three-peat, and men's basketball's second appearance in the NCAA tournament he says success has become a familiar feeling.

Kreklau: "Kinda getting used to it, it should happen every year!"

Fiechtner/Bison Fan: "It's great for North Dakota, great exposure. It's just awesome."

Of course, we know now that the Bison won in overtime.
