Minot, ND (WDAY TV) - The Shanley girls trying to win their first state championship in 17 years, taking on Minot on the Majettes home soil.

Minot, ND (WDAY TV) - The Shanley girls trying to win their first state championship in 17 years, taking on Minot on the Majettes home soil.

Early in the first Deacons trailing, but Alivia Fraase changes that with this three to put Shanley up by two.

The lead was one at the break and Shanley opens the second on fire, Lauren Rotunda drills the triple, she had 10 on the night, lead up to 4.

Sarah Jacobson was fantastic again, here she stops and pops for three, to put the Deacons up 10, she finishes with 28.

Later the steal and the easy layup, Shanley went on a 22-3 run to open the second half, and outscored its opponents by a combined 54 points in the 2nd half for the tournament. 53-29 the final.

The Deacons finish the year on a 16-game winning streak, capped off by a state championship.

Alivia Fraase/ 8Pts., 10 Reb.: “We knew we just couldn't give up. Lauren Rotunda's three got us going, a little bit more confidence. I think the nerves were really high with this atmosphere. It was amazing, so many people here.”

Lauren Rotunda/ 10 Pts., 6 Reb.: “Yeah we always get a little slow start at first but once we get going we can't stop. We always have a stronger second half too so that really helps.”

Tim Jacobson/ Shanley Head Coach: “I think of those kids in between that didn't get there but were close. This is for them and for all of the coaches that have tried so hard.”
