Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - A cat is lucky to be alive tonight after being thrown from a moving vehicle in Cass County.

Dag Hilton and Dallas Reger were out snowmobiling the Red River near County Road 20 in Harwood, when they say a truck driving full speed threw out what they thought was a bag. That bag turned out to be a cat.

Hilton put the cat in his lap and rode his snowmobile 15 minutes back to the truck.

After caliing 911, they dropped off the car at Red River Animal Emergency Clinic in Fargo.

Dag Hilton - Found Abandoned Cat: “I kind of feel like if we wouldn't have been there. That cat would have just been left out there alone you know? I get if you don’t want the cat, you're trying to give it away, but like, you can always give it to the Humane Society or post it on craigslist. You don’t got to throw it out a window when it's negative 10 degrees out.”

The cat is expected to be OK. The vehicle is described as a maroon, late 90's Ford Explorer.
