(MOORHEAD, MN) - We are treated to some great college football trophy games in this part of the world; Paul Bunyan's axe, the little brown jug and the Floyd of Rosedale. None of them have anything compared to this, the Battle for the Troll, the annual game between Concordia and St. Olaf. The troll is made from moss from pine trees in Norway and was a welcome gift for St. Olaf to come back to the MIAC.

The two schools each share Norwegian history and this trophy has now received some national recognition with ESPN in town. The two teams have played for the Trollsince 1974, Concordia leads the series with Oles 36-25-2, it's a 1pm kickoff Saturday at Moorhead, the Troll is scheduled to make an appearance sometime Saturday on ESPN's College Gameday.
