Fergus Falls, MN (WDAY TV) - After two nights of dirt flying terror, the World of Outlaws Sprint series has left the Red River Valley.
After finishing 4th in Grand Forks on Friday, Fargo's Donny Schatz took home 7th place last night in the inaugural Outlaws race at I-94 Speedway in Fergus Falls. Schatz started 9th and was able to move up a few spots on the narrow track.
David Gravel led from start to finish, though, winning on the night before his birthday. Afterward Schatz talked about the first trip to Fergus Falls.
Donny Schatz, 7 Wins This Season (WoO Leader): “The facility is phenomenal. Everything is clean. It's a great setting. It's unbelievable for all the fans and even the race teams. Racing was very difficult. There wasn't a lot of passing going on. It's a fast place. It's the first time for them, so I'm sure next time we come back they'll make some improvements and try to make things better for the fans and the racers both.”
The Outlaws will return later this summer, racing in Grand Forks on August 16th.
