As you may have heard earlier the celebration of Roger Maris has been postponed to tomorrow and will start at 2:30 Central time. WDAY 6 Sports Director Dom Izzo has put up a tent outside Yankee Stadium and has more from the Big Apple.

Welcome back to gloomy and dank Yankee Stadium where there will be no Roger Maris ceremony tonight as scheduled before the Boston-Yankee game. This has been a ceremony months in the planning and both the fans and players know the Yankees know how to put on a party.

Brett Gardner – Yankees Left Fielder: “He's obviously someone who is very special to the organization and very special to all the fans. What he and Micky went through that special season is something that'll probably never happen again in all of baseball. We're definitely looking forward to remembering him tomorrow.”

Buster Olney – ESPN Baseball Analyst (HOF Voter): “For younger fans it's probably going to be an education. I know the older fans who follow the Yankees are obviously well aware of Roger Maris. He's brought up in coversation all the time. I get emails from fans all the time that ask, "how come Roger Maris isn't in the Hall of Fame? Do you think he'll get in sometime?" I mean, it's going to be a day where there is a lot of reaction to him.”

As mentioned earlier the Yankees pull out all the stops for a celebration and tomorrow is no different. Hall of Famers Yogi Berra and Whitey Ford will be in attendance and also the guy who caught the Home Run ball in right field.
