Guardsman remembering fallen comrades

Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - One guardsman is on a memorial mission for personal healing and honoring fallen soldiers.

Steven Fraase, a national guardsman from Enderlin, is marching from Wahpeton west to visit four gravesites of his fellow fallen soldiers. The 413 mile walk honors Corporal Christopher Kleinwachter, of Wahpeton, Corporal Curtis Mehrer and Sergeant Travis Van Zoest of Bismarck and Corporal Nathan Goodiron. The march wraps up in Goodiron's hometown of Mandaree. Goodiron slept within arms reach of Fraase during their tour in Afghanistan. Fraase says for him, its a time to reflect and heal old wounds.

Sargent Steven Fraase - March to Mandaree: "Mine and some others haven't been healing as quickly, so I wanted to do something significant, not only significant to me, but to the families involved."
