The 6-foot-4, 310-pound guard from Minneapolis told The Forum newspaper that he also considered Auburn and Arkansas. He plans to enroll at Florida State in January so he can participate in spring drills.
Seminoles head coach Jimbo Fisher told the Orlando Sentinel newspaper that he expects Fahrenkrug to have a chance to start right away.
Three other players at the small two-year college in North Dakota have signed with Football Bowl Subdivision schools — offensive tackle Matt Williams, of Liverpool, England (California); wide receiver Cecil Doe, of Maple Grove, Minn. (Hawaii); and tight end Colby Kratch, of Watertown, Minn. (Toledo).
